Portrait photography -- 1st Training Course

1.          Introduction

The Board of Deacons authorized to kickoff our actions of photographing smiling portraits on the coming Sunday, 2005/3/13. The photographing will continue forever because new faces and new smiling will need to be photographed from time to time. All who are capable of photographing portraits is welcome to bring your cameras to the church and participating in the capturing of smiles

If you want to be in the actions but don't have a digital camera don't worry you can try it with my camera. There is no budget nor expenses involved. We use a digital camera only. If you use a non-digital camera there will be no reimbursement for the film.
Those who have not attended the training session please watch this forum for some instructions.

If you don't want to be photographed please feel free to wave a NO sign to the camera.

The ideas emerged after I came back from Taiwan at the end of August 2004. The timing coincided with the thoughts of replacing the existing name tags in the board of deacons. The BOD, Board of Deacons, accepted the proposal of using smiling portrait on the name tags unanimously at the November meeting. The project was postponed immediately due to my unexpected assignment of coordinating the Christmas worship. Now 7 persons exchanging ideas on how to capture smiling with a camera we can move on to give it a try.

Some people will ask "why do we bother to do this in a church?". I will talk about this in the next posting, perhaps after I come back from breakfast.
