Dear Shih-Chung,

Will you be interested to visit Taiwanese Presbyterian Church on Sunday
morning? The worship starts at 10am. The church provides lunch, we can eat
lunch together and know each other more.

What do you think?

Where do you live now?

By the way, how do you write your name in Chinese?

Hi Shih-Chung,
I am glad to hear about you. We can plan to meet somewhere. I am going back
to Taiwan next week Wed, so it would be better to meet in this weekend.

One of my friend in Taiwanese Presbyterian Church are working together for a
fellowship called Career Development Fellowship (CDF), I would imagine it
fit to your current needs. I will introduce this friend, also an Elder in
TPC, to you.

Now, I cannot wait to see the 3rd gathering.  What can our 3rd gathering
lead us to?

We have tried the greeting, the disclosure, the connecting, the equal
opportunity for public and responsive speaking, a primary learner’s
presentation, what should / could we try next?

New ideas keep coming into my head I can hardly sorting them out properly
and efficiently in time.

“Tina with a retina issue” - Yesterday I went with my wife,Tina, to see her
new retina-specialist doctor. In the waiting room as well as the examination
room I was inspired to bring something into our skill inventory.

The ability to attract questions and to interpret clearly, patiently,
attractively, and efficiently.

The nurse who took the patient history, before the doctor showed up, told us
to ask question as much as we could because she knew the doctor enjoyed
being asked was good at answer questions. That was the most inspiring
statement to me yesterday. It is a very attractive attribute for a person to
draw energy of others and help advancing his or her career. We did
experience the ability and taste the flavor of that doctor in communicating
the professional issues and the patient’s concerns. We thought we were
referred to a very fine and workable physician.  I decided to incorporate
this attribute into the CDF exercises.

We can try to question one another’s profession/life history issue and let
the questioned person exercise and polish the skills of answering without
preparation. Along with this exercise of answering question everyone is
practicing and polishing the skills of raising questions.  Obviously with a
group size close to 10 and 90 minutes of interaction we won’t be able to
chase and study every act or statement. Everyone can review the recording
and find his or her own improvement opportunity and paths. I will be more
than happy to accompany the effort of learning from listening to the sound
recording.

Whoever decide to take advantage of being a primary learner please let me
know and pick a time slot for the next or the following gatherings. This is
a small step of brevity that might change your life in a long run. Take a
bold step to present something you don’t know well and not well-prepared and
see what might happen to your life. Take advantage of the save environment
of a Christian fellowship and grow.
